Tommy Jordan is Wrong? Is Justice needed for his daughter?

February 11, 2012

Should the North Carolina state Office of the Child Advocate and Department of Family and Children Services, or DFCS, investigate Mr. Jordan? I feel that in Georgia he would be arrested and called a child abuser by some of the folks in Athens.

Would you shoot your child's laptop if she posted stuff about you and your wife on Facebook?

I don't like Facebook, or the idea of a "twit" language either.

Y'all need to watch Mr. Jordan. He's really upset.

I see kids like this all the time. It was one of the reasons that I quit teaching. Spoiled kids.

“For all you parents out there that think your kids don’t post bad things on Facebook, well I want to read you one.”

Dad Addresses Viral Laptop Shooting After Daughter’s Facebook Post [QUOTES]
http://mashable.com/2012/02/11/dad-addresses-facebook-laptop-shooting/

Excerpt:

"The tech-savvy, gun-toting father who blasted nine hollow-point rounds into his daughter’s laptop after she wrote a disrespectful Facebook post is dealing with his newfound notoriety much the same way he handled the girl’s rant: publicly and proactively.

If you haven’t seen the now-viral video, here’s what happened: Tommy Jordan of North Carolina has a 15-year-old daughter who posted an indignant note to Facebook in which she complained about and harshly criticized her parents for forcing her do too many chores around the house and generally making her life a hassle.

She thought she’d hid it from her parents using privacy settings, but her father works in IT and found the note anyway, he said, when he was uploading photos to the family dog’s profile page. (She didn’t think to hide it from the dog.) So he decided to reprimand her publicly, saying in the video that “since you want to hide it from everyone, I’m going to share it with everybody.”

He posted an eight-minute video to YouTube on Wednesday, refuting her key points and reading the entire note aloud while smoking a cigarette and sitting in a wooden chair in a grassy field. After about seven minutes of preamble, he gets up, points the camera at a laptop on the ground, introduces a pistol into the frame — “This right here is my .45″ — and blasts away."--by Sam Laird

Search youtube for: Facebook Parenting: For the troubled teen to see the whole video, as 14,931,101 million folks have watched it in 3 days, but he does say some "naughty" words, so that's why I'm not embedding the youtube clip.

Watching his video makes me think of Office Space and the youtube clip "[Original] Office Space: The Printer Scene". I won't post it either because that song has some extremely "naughty" words.

PS: Here's what Mr. Jordan posted on his youtube page:

Warning: Since this video seems to have gone crazy, I figure I'll post this notice. I'm going to read a letter my 15 year old daughter wrote. There ARE some curse words in it. None of them are incredibly bad, but they are definitely things a little kid shouldn't hear... not to mention things MY KID shouldn't say!

Why doesn't the ATM want my card?

Summary:  Over the past few weeks I've noticed a change to the ATM I visit on West Broad in front of Five Guys. It's a Bank of America ATM and the main reason I like it is because there is only a $2 fee to use it.   Over the past few weeks I've noticed a change to the ATM I visit on West Broad in front of Five Guys. It's a Bank of America ATM and the main reason I like it is because there is only a $2 fee to use it. The last few times I visited the ATM, I put my card in the slot and the ATM immediatley gave me the card back.  I was a little alarmed at first and tried to put the card back in but the screen prompted me to input my PIN number instead. I was able to complete my transaction but it threw me out of my comfort zone. read more
