Teaching Politicians Good 'Eye Contact'

February 1, 2012

So, the Newt went down to defeat in Florida. Who knew?

BUT, I like the little story the ABH carried in the run-up to the FL debate about Newt's tutelage under Chester Gibson while at West GA College. (Now there is a "university" in that name somewhere).

Gibson used to coach debate at UGA, way back when, I believe; in any event, he is still WELL KNOWN in intercollegiate debate circles; and since he was involved there for decades, his name is familiar to legions of attorneys, politicians, con men, and others who might have debated in college.

Long-story-short, however, was about how to practice the all important eye contact with the audience during the debate.

Well, my proposal would call for a secluded hot tub.

Inside the hot tub, for instance, we'd have Mitt and Newt. And then we'd invite Barney Frank and new husband to join them for a dip!

Ta-da! Now that's what I call good eye contact!!

Why doesn't the ATM want my card?

Summary:  Over the past few weeks I've noticed a change to the ATM I visit on West Broad in front of Five Guys. It's a Bank of America ATM and the main reason I like it is because there is only a $2 fee to use it.   Over the past few weeks I've noticed a change to the ATM I visit on West Broad in front of Five Guys. It's a Bank of America ATM and the main reason I like it is because there is only a $2 fee to use it. The last few times I visited the ATM, I put my card in the slot and the ATM immediatley gave me the card back.  I was a little alarmed at first and tried to put the card back in but the screen prompted me to input my PIN number instead. I was able to complete my transaction but it threw me out of my comfort zone. read more
