Is Sugarland to blame for deadly stage collapse?

February 22, 2012

I admit, I love Sugarland.  Their songs just make me feel better when I am having a bad day.  I wasn't always the biggest Sugarland fan, but after attending one of their concerts two years ago, I will always be a lifelong fan.  The girl can sing. That's all there is to it.

That being said, I am sure you remember the awful stage collapse before one of their concerts last year, which resulted in 5 deaths and 28 injuries.  It was front page news, and now with the victims going to trial, Sugarland's attorney's are claiming the injuries are the fan's "own fault".  They are calling the stage collapse an "act of God", and that Sugarland should not be to blame.  It is no doubt a sicky situation, but I don't see where Sugarland is in the wrong.  I admit, the language of the attorneys is harsh and not warranted, but to sue Sugarland for damages just isn't fair in my opinion.

What are your thoughts on this controversy?

Do you think the attorneys are being callous with their language?
