Pregnancy in 30's & 40's...

November 5, 2010

HEALTH TALK: I was just watching a Showbiz Tonight piece on Guiliana and Bill Rancic's very public (and personal) struggle to conceive.

Like Guiliana (an anchor for E! News) many women, who are now in their 30's or early 40'S, are finding that putting off motherhood (to concentrate on career or to wait for the right guy) might've been a bad idea.

When I was a TV reporter, I did an entire series on IVF and one couple's struggle to get pregnant. Yes, there are options, but they can be expensive and there is no guarantee (at ANY age).

Is this something that any of you are struggling with? Did you wait until the "right" time to have kids and are now having trouble? What options have you found?

OR, on the flip side, are you someone who might not be "ready", but is considering going ahead before it's "too late"?

Let's discuss.

    Blog: Watching movies by myself

Summary:  I'm not saying it's lonely to be a movie critic, but we often find ourselves seated alone in an empty theatre when we're watching new stuff. I know people who say they won't go see anything unless they have at least one other person to go with, but I've always enjoyed having the place to myself. No cartoons on racism

As you might imagine, the vast majority of the editorial cartoons available these days for publication through the syndicate which supplies cartoons to the Athens Banner-Herald/OnlineAthens are addressing the situation in Ferguson, Mo., where the fatal shooting of a black teen by a white police officer has touched off a number of demonstrations -- some peaceful, but many not at all peaceful, with tear gas fired by police officers and gunshots fired by some protester. read more
