Nosebleed? Try bacon

Do you suffer from nosebleeds?   I have a friend who suffers from terrible nosebleeds and they seem to just come out of nowhere. 

An article on theweek.com shares a story of a 4-year-old girl that had chronic nosebleeds due to a rare platelet disorder that kept her from clotting.  Doctors were unable to stop the bleeding and didn't know what to do.  One of the doctors remebered that an old remedy for nosebleeds was pork.

The doctors went out and found some bacon and gave her a "nasal tampon."  The nosebleeds stopped. 

 

Is it just me or is bacon the best food ever?  It tastes great and it saved a little girl's life.

    The Athens-Clarke Industrial Development Authority, which facilitates bonds for manufacturers, has a called meeting at 5 p.m. today. The Athens-Clarke and Oconee County commissions both called meetings for 8 a.m. tomorrow to discuss real estate transactions. Clearly, something big is going on. Check back for details.
