In reply to: Oconee sheriff boycotts gun dealer over gun ban to public »

Anonymousfirst, its obvious you dont know alot about guns. a semi-auto loads a bullet after one is fired by pulling the trigger once ,you must pull the trigger each time you want to shoot it, same as a revolver, same as a shotgun, same as a bow and arrow ,one pull ,one shot , early firearms were the same way Im sure the signers of our constitution wished they could have had a gun that you could shoot with faster than a musket. semi automatic weapons are not military ideas . Private citizens came up with the idea and the military said thank you and they bought them for military use. i have 5 semi-auto weapons and my son will have them after me, he will be able to defend himself from harm. will yours or will his body wait for the police to show up AFTER a crime has happened to process his murder scene.

Instead, she sent over this statement Wednesday morning and she did not mince her words. (Links and italicized portions are my own; otherwise, it's as she wrote it.) Dear Friends: read more

UPDATED: Draft language of so-called curfew ordinance

The committee opted Tuesday night to put off deciding on the ordinance until, at the earliest, its next meeting. Of note: The Athens-Clarke County attorney highlighted that the proposed times are, in essence, placeholders for the commission to change or keep as it pleases.   Full text of the Use of Public Right-of-Ways ordinance draft is below. read more
