In reply to: Anti-tax conservatives say no to tax-increase deal »

December 24, 2012

I think the governmnet has shown that it doesn't really intend to fix the deficit with what little revenue it can collect by raising taxes. Anybody who thinks that is as "entitled" to their belief as I am to think they are naive.

The term "fiscal cliff" was invented by the government to cause feelings of anxiety and fear. It's the same old strategy. Stop believing the left AND the right.

Is our country in the crapper fiscally? Yep. But if the government would get it's fat a$$ out of the way we could get around it and fix the economy on our own the natural way; by working hard and producing.

How do you think we got into this mess? The government is NOT the answer. It IS the problem. 16 TRILLION AND COUNTING.

Instead, she sent over this statement Wednesday morning and she did not mince her words. (Links and italicized portions are my own; otherwise, it's as she wrote it.) Dear Friends: read more

UPDATED: Draft language of so-called curfew ordinance

The committee opted Tuesday night to put off deciding on the ordinance until, at the earliest, its next meeting. Of note: The Athens-Clarke County attorney highlighted that the proposed times are, in essence, placeholders for the commission to change or keep as it pleases.   Full text of the Use of Public Right-of-Ways ordinance draft is below. read more
