In reply to: Athens Housing Authority receives tax credits for Jack R. Wells transformation »

What a waste of money. Who in their right mind will pay full market value rent to live within government subsidized housing? Of COURSE the residents want the old ones to be demolished and for the government to build them nice apartments! Who wouldn't? After all, they take such pride in their neighborhood and their apartments now, right? This is just like the idiot liberal do-gooder mentality. Continue to throw money at 'problems' and expect it to get better by itself when you have multiple GENERATIONS that choose government assistance rather than putting effort towards a proper education and gaining the proper tools to become a productive member of society. To the people who will elect to live in these apartments among the government assistance crowd, be sure that you have rental insurance. Also, I recommend to have a good alarm system and reinforce both doors to prevent kick-ins...because you are going to come home and find that your stuff has been stolen while you are at work. Go ahead and hate me for stating the obvious. When it happens, and it will, I will say, "I told you so!"

Links to Banner-Herald's award-winning sports stories

You can get a few more details on that in this story ? "Banner-Herald sports staff wins 11 awards" ? and I thought I'd provide some links to the winning stories for the curious. The awards were for the sports staff's work in 2012. read more

Going deep on Georgia's depth chart (and Harvey-Clemons' suspension impact)

It?s hard to make too much out of a depth chart put out just under three months before the season opener, but it?s the dog days of June so here are the takeaways I see from Georgia?s latest official pecking order outlined below:--John Theus remains outside the first five on the offensive line. Continued motivation for the summer workouts? Maybe. The rising sophomore is behind Xzavier Ward at right tackle. read more
