Happy Hanukkah to all my Jewish brothers and sisters.

We Christians need to remember that Jesus was born a Jew, was raised a Jew, died as a Jew, and was given full Jewish burial rites.

Roman Catholics and Jews have become close and have made very productive steps in reaching out to one other to better understand our differences with mutual respect and admiration.

The slew of Protestant denominations here in the "Bible Belt" South...well...not so much! Sad

Happy Festival of Lights! Shalom Smile

Links to Banner-Herald's award-winning sports stories

The Athens Banner-Herald sports staff combined to win 11 individual awards on Sunday at the Georgia Sports Writers Association's annual meeting in Marietta. You can get a few more details on that in this story ? "Banner-Herald sports staff wins 11 awards" ? and I thought I'd provide some links to the winning stories for the curious. The awards were for the sports staff's work in 2012. read more
