haha, give them food and they will never leave. Instead leaving a mountain of urine filled vodka bottles and broken crack pipes like all the other homeless/urban camper sites.

Have you actually ever visited an Athens homeless encampment or spent any time with the people who frequent them? Nearly everyone of them is a convicted felon who is using crack cocaine and alcohol in excess and stealing to support it.

There are so many resources for those who actually want to stop being homeless it isnt funny. Those who chose to continue a life of stealing and using dope are simply a law enforcement problem which ACC does a terrible job of dealing with hence the droves of bums who flock to ACC from out of town and the high property crime rate and the rapes and murders at tent city over the years.

I know people who say they won't go see anything unless they have at least one other person to go with, but I've always enjoyed having the place to myself. No cartoons on racism

As you might imagine, the vast majority of the editorial cartoons available these days for publication through the syndicate which supplies cartoons to the Athens Banner-Herald/OnlineAthens are addressing the situation in Ferguson, Mo., where the fatal shooting of a black teen by a white police officer has touched off a number of demonstrations -- some peaceful, but many not at all peaceful, with tear gas fired by police officers and gunshots fired by some protester. read more
