the crux of the issue - "...but I think that’s a dispute amongst theologians and I think it has nothing to do with the gross domestic product or economic growth of the United States. " does actually. It is the profound concept that you can apply science and evidence based reality to the creation of economic policy.

For instance, we've seen how blind faith in trickle down theory has failed. We've seen there is no evidence to support the myth. Or that lower tax rates for the wealthy creates jobs - despite all evidence to the contrary.

Faith and science are not opposites - but they are totally different and each has its place.
