In reply to: We Are Better Off Than Four Years Ago »

With the added debt, we have only used the nation's 'credit card' to keep up our quality of living. That bill will come due at some point, then the crying will be loud from all sides (see the eu/greece/spain/france etc). You can only live on borrowed money for so long. Just happens that our economy/earning power is huge and we, as a country, can push it further down the road before it comes back to bite us in the butt.

:edit: so to answer the question....does it feel like we're better off now..probably....are we better off now...not if you look at the reality of where all this "betterness" has come from and the cost we're gonna pay for it.

Links to Banner-Herald's award-winning sports stories

The Athens Banner-Herald sports staff combined to win 11 individual awards on Sunday at the Georgia Sports Writers Association's annual meeting in Marietta. You can get a few more details on that in this story ? "Banner-Herald sports staff wins 11 awards" ? and I thought I'd provide some links to the winning stories for the curious. The awards were for the sports staff's work in 2012. read more
