New Year's resolutions failing already

January 17, 2012

Barely two weeks into 2012, I'm already struggling to keep my self-improvement resolutions for the year. And I know I'm not alone.

About a third of new year's resolutions will be broken by the end of January, according to an analysis by the New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/08/sunday-review/new-years-resolutions-st...) .

Among other things, I've resolved to hit the gym more, with a target of at least four trips a week. I committed to a three month membership to the Athens YMCA in hopes that that would motivate me to meet my goals (which is awesome by the way--check it out).

I haven't made my target once yet. But I haven't given up, either. I'm beginning to recruut friends to come along with me. I'm hoping once I get a few of us in a routine, peer pressure will keep us all going through the year.

What new year's resolutions did you make for 2012? Do you have any special strategies or tricks to help you achieve them? Or are you secretly hoping the world will end this year after all so that failed diet won't matter so much?

Let me know, I'm interested in what everyone else is doing.
