NCAA Tournament Bracket Talk

February 13, 2012

About a month ago I posted this thread regarding my early thoughts for No. 1 seeds in the looming NCAA men's basketball tournament: www.athenstalks.com/early-ncaa-tourney-thoughts

My thoughts haven't changed much on who I think will make it to the Big Dance as a highly coveted No. 1 seed this year. In my previous post I mentioned how the Big 12 could end up with two No. 1 seeds. At this point, it's looking like the Kansas Jayhawks could feasibly join Missouri in representation of their conference in the tournament. However, I believe that if Ohio State wins the Big Ten tournament championship, and Missouri wins the Big 12 tournament championship, the Buckeyes will get the nod for a No. 1 seed over the Jayhawks. So I'm sticking with my guns on the No. 1 seeds come tournament time: Kentucky, Syracuse, Missouri and Ohio State. And I now think Calipari's Wildcats will be pegged as the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament. Maybe you think I'm wrong, though.

Here's a link to the newly released ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll: espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/rankings/_/poll/2

Do you think another team has the resume to garner a No. 1 seed in the tournament?
