Move over October, it's 'Movember'

November 2, 2012

October is over and so is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  We will no longer see pink gloves on football players, pink sections of our newspaper or pink ribbons on lapels. What you will see are mustaches.

November, now referred to as "Movember," is a month for male cancer health awareness.  Prostate cancer and testicular cancer are heavily focused on during the month.  The idea of "Movember" came from Australia orginally.

Here's how it works: To participate, a man just needs to grow out his moustache during the month of November.  While changing your face you are also changing the face of men's cancer health.  Read more about "Movember" at latimes.com

I can grow a mustache in about 12 hours.  I am trying to decide if I want to participate.  Facial hair makes me look kind of creepy, though.

Should I give in and grow a mustache this month?

Are you or your significant other planning to participate in "Movember"?

Do you think this a good way to raise awareness about men's health?
