Juror friend requests defendant

A man living in Sarasota, Florida recently had jury duty and reported to court.  During the jury selection process, the man sent a friend request on Facebook to the defendant.

The defendant reported this to the court and the man was dismissed from jury duty. 

Later he posted on his Facebook page, "Score … I got dismissed!! apparently they frown upon sending a friend request to the defendant … haha."

The judge didn't think it was that funny and hauled him back into court.

The man was sentenced to 3 days in jail.
