I can't find a nursing job!

CNN recently ran a piece about recent nursing graduates that cannot seem to find work no matter how hard they try. The following is a short excerpt from one of those horror stories, but I guess that some of y'all can call me an extremist and say I should not be allowed to post here, all the while bragging about your $600,000 house in Athens and how you spend $1600 a month eating out in Athens. Haves and have nots. And what's funny is the ones that are attacking me here are the Obama supporters, but yet y'all can't listen to Dr. King's "Beyond Poverty" speech. Oh well...

"I graduated from San Jose State University in May and got my registered nurse license in July. I have been searching and applying for an RN position for seven months now and still have not found a nursing job. I have applied for jobs all over California and also other states such as Texas, Nevada, Oklahoma, and Virginia."--Nhuha Le, 25

I know people who say they won't go see anything unless they have at least one other person to go with, but I've always enjoyed having the place to myself. No cartoons on racism

As you might imagine, the vast majority of the editorial cartoons available these days for publication through the syndicate which supplies cartoons to the Athens Banner-Herald/OnlineAthens are addressing the situation in Ferguson, Mo., where the fatal shooting of a black teen by a white police officer has touched off a number of demonstrations -- some peaceful, but many not at all peaceful, with tear gas fired by police officers and gunshots fired by some protester. read more
