Easter Wknd Celebrations

UPDATED (4/25): I hope you all had a Happy Easter, whether you celebrated the religious significance of the day or not. We actually had an egg dying party (without a kid in sight) and I painted eggs for the first time since I was a child. It took a lot longer than I remember, but it was really fun!  Smile

After the eggs were dyed, I made baskets for my Mom and Grandmother and some of my other family and friends.

All in all it was a great day!!!

(4/22) People all over the world are celebrating Good Friday, including many who are in Rome this weekend for ceremonies leading up to Easter Sunday.

How do you celebrate Easter? Is it a religious holiday for you? A time to spend with family? Both? Or neither?

    Chuck Williams wants your money

    State Rep. Chuck Williams, R-Watkinsville, is holding two fundraisers next week, indicating that he expects to have opposition either in July or November. The fundraisers are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Holiday Inn in downtown Athens and Tuesday at Springhill Suites in Oconee County. He's asking for a $100, $250 or $500 donation, but contributions aren't necessary to attend. Secretary of State Brian Kemp, Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black, Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens and state Sen. Bill Cowsert, R-Athens, are the hosts. read more
