Europe Protests Austerity With Strikes in Spain, Italy
http://www.businessweek.com/news/2012-11-14/spanish-unions-strike-over-r...

Will the North American Union bring to fruition the Amero? Will the Amero be presented to Americans as a way to end our economic crisis? Wouldn't just stopping all these wars be one way to fix our economy? Will we have strikes here in the USA like in Europe? Already Walmart employees are striking, and planning a big strike for next Friday. Or am I an extremist, whatever that means, for daring to post this here at Athens Talks? I do know how to use Opera and vertical side tabs for ease of Internet research, and perhaps that angers some who say that I post too much here at Athens Talks.

“We need to bring manufacturing back to this country. We need to break up big agriculture and big pharma. We need to break up the big chains that have put us into chains. Break the chains. Olive Garden is not Italian food. Pizza Hut is not pizza.”--by Gerald Celente

She and I played phone tag Monday when I was reporting the story and I wasn't able to get her comments in a timely fashion. Instead, she sent over this statement Wednesday morning and she did not mince her words. (Links and italicized portions are my own; otherwise, it's as she wrote it.) Dear Friends: read more

UPDATED: Draft language of so-called curfew ordinance

The committee opted Tuesday night to put off deciding on the ordinance until, at the earliest, its next meeting. Of note: The Athens-Clarke County attorney highlighted that the proposed times are, in essence, placeholders for the commission to change or keep as it pleases.   Full text of the Use of Public Right-of-Ways ordinance draft is below. read more
