Dating 101: Survival of the Fittest

January 18, 2012

Ladies, the dating rules have changed. The age of chivalry is dead. Why then, do we spend hours agonizing just waiting on the man to text us first? I have spent my entire life under the assumption I should never make the first move. Those were the rules of the game. Who was I to challenge them? In reality, I was only challenging my future happiness. Why should I spend my time worrying that a guy doesn't like me just because he hasn't texted me since we met one hour ago. Through many trials and tribulations, I have adjusted my dating philosophies, and I no longer spend my time worrying. Rather, I spend my time dating.
In this age of equality, we shouldn't sacrifice our confidence and time to such a trivial issue. Let's spend less time worrying and more time dating. So what if he doesn't like you. I say congratulations. You have just saved yourself hours, days, or maybe even months of worry. Now you are free to move on and get back out there to show him what he's missing. Ladies everywhere should take Beyonce's words to heart when she sings, "Girls, we run the world." Let's get out there and run it.

What do you think about this issue? Do you think girls should change their dating philosophies and make the first move?
