The Colbert bump

A new poll in South Carolina has shown that if Stephen Colbert, the satirical talk show host from Comedy Central, were in the primary race in South Carolina, he would be ahead of John Huntsman.
Huntman joked after appearing on "The Colbert Report" in October that he hoped to benefit in South Carolina from the "Colbert bump" since Colbert calls South Carolina home.

Colbert recently started his own Super PAC and has been very active the presidential race.
Is Colbert's participation a good thing for this poltical race or is he causing more harm than good?

Chuck Williams wants your money
AuedState Rep. Chuck Williams, R-Watkinsville, is holding two fundraisers next week, indicating that he expects to have opposition either in July or November. The fundraisers are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Holiday Inn in downtown Athens and Tuesday at Springhill Suites in Oconee County. He's asking for a $100, $250 or $500 donation, but contributions aren't necessary to attend. Secretary of State Brian Kemp, Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black, Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens and state Sen. Bill Cowsert, R-Athens, are the hosts. read more
