Athens in 1947

January 31, 2012

All weekend, folks around Athens have been sharing this video on Facebook.

It is a video of film from Athens in 1947.

I have been slowly going through the film trying to recognize certain landmarks in Athens.

So far I have identified the Arch, most of the buildings on campus, the Georgia Theatre, the Fred Building, Cine and The National.

Check out the video:

Can you identify any places that I am unable to?  I am sure you can.

Name as many places as you can.

If possible, see if you can find the place today and send the photo to me so I can do a side-by-side comparison photo and post it for us.

My email is joel.kight@onlineathens.com.
