Are you Rich?

No, I don't mean one of the 1% but how do you measure if you are rich or poor. A friend of mine said he wished he were rich then he would not have any problems. His comment made me do some thinking. He is like many of us in that he has to watch where the money goes and I know somtimes it can be hard making it from one payday to the next.

This made me rethink what it means to be rich. I would like to have more money, but who wouldn't. When I look at other people that I know I don't have it too bad. My kids and grandkids are healthy. I have a job and I am able to provide for my family. I have a wife that has stood by me for over 25 years and they were a lot of times when I don't know why she did it. I love her more than anything in this world.

We all have it rough sometimes but take a moment to look around at others. You just may realize you are rich beyond your wildest dreams. And that's a good way to feel.

    Chuck Williams wants your money

    State Rep. Chuck Williams, R-Watkinsville, is holding two fundraisers next week, indicating that he expects to have opposition either in July or November. The fundraisers are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Holiday Inn in downtown Athens and Tuesday at Springhill Suites in Oconee County. He's asking for a $100, $250 or $500 donation, but contributions aren't necessary to attend.
