Are home births safe?

 Do you know anyone who recently had a home birth? As a woman would you be more in favor of a home birth or a hospital birth?

Home births are on the rise according to the CDC. But are they safe? A home-birth advocate who recently died during child birth in Australia raises the questions of home birth safety. 

The main reasons women are choosing to have more home births are for privacy and comfort. Others want to get back to the most natural experience.

    Chuck Williams wants your money

    State Rep. Chuck Williams, R-Watkinsville, is holding two fundraisers next week, indicating that he expects to have opposition either in July or November. The fundraisers are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Holiday Inn in downtown Athens and Tuesday at Springhill Suites in Oconee County. He's asking for a $100, $250 or $500 donation, but contributions aren't necessary to attend.
