American Idol finalist taking a break

December 20, 2011

American Idol finalist, David Archuleta, is taking a break from his singing career.

The 20-year-old announced at a Christmas concert on Monday he is not quitting his singing music career but rather taking 2 years off to serve his church.

Archuleta is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Read more about his decision at Entertainment Weekly.

David has a large number of fans and is still a very popular music figure. Do you think this is a good deicision for his career?

Have you known others who have taken a break from their careers for their faith?
