An Atlanta TV anchor faces multiple charges following a wrong way crash in Midtown.

Fox 5’s Amanda Davis was arrested just before 12:30 a.m. Sunday after she allegedly drove her car north in the southbound lanes of Piedmont Avenue before hitting another car head-on.

Neither driver was hurt, but both vehicles sustained considerable damage.

Davis, who admitted consuming alcohol, refused to take a breathalyzer test and was booked into the Atlanta city jail.

She has been charged with DUI, failure to maintain lane and reckless driving.

In a written statement, Fox 5 management said it was "aware" of the incident.

........ First off why drink and drive, second off, does she lose her job for this?

But as someone who has followed Nick?s career since I became a fan in 1998, not just in the Backstreet Boys, but as a solo artist, I?ve always thought we had a lot in common besides being the same age. read more

Links to Banner-Herald's award-winning sports stories

The Athens Banner-Herald sports staff combined to win 11 individual awards on Sunday at the Georgia Sports Writers Association's annual meeting in Marietta. You can get a few more details on that in this story ? "Banner-Herald sports staff wins 11 awards" ? and I thought I'd provide some links to the winning stories for the curious. The awards were for the sports staff's work in 2012. read more
