15 "wealthiest" communities

February 21, 2012

Is it even curious to anyone else -- wait, perhaps curious isn't the right term, let's start over... Is it even scary to anyone else that of the 15 wealthiest communities, ten (yes TEN) are located near enough Washington D.C. to be considered part of the DC area? If the remaining 5, three are New Jersey, one in New York State, and the last, little orphan that it is, is waaaay over in Colorado.

It should speak for itself that the very people who make the decisions about OUR money really have very little reason to take care of it the way WE would, because they have very few of the same worries that we do.

This crosses political lines completely, folks. How sad is it that in order to govern "we the people" you must first rise above BEING one of "us" financially to afford running. Something is wrong here; governing us (as opposed to being a politician) should be in the hands of those who are living and experiencing the daily challenges. I just feel certain that being an elected official wasn't intended to become a profession in and of itself!

There. I said it. I don't have nearly enough of a solution that would work -- but I fear the reason some ideas that "we the people" have to fix things won't work simply because those with the power AND money don't want them to.
