15 ways to live a little greener!

February 14, 2012

One of my New Year's resolutions was to stay dedicated to  environmentally friendly choices and find more ways to implement them into my life. Some of the best ways to to this really are pretty simple.

The Daily Green, a website devoted to all things "green", posted a list of "15 Resolutions for a Greener New Year" (http://www.thedailygreen.com/environmental-news/latest/green-new-years-r...)

Some that I found the most interesting were as follows,

#4 Stop receiving unwanted catalogs--You can go to catalogchoice.com and take your name off of the catalog spam list. This means less clutter in your mailbox, less waste, and less going to our landfills.

#11 Run a fully-loaded dishwasher--When it's time to do the dishes wait until the dishwashers full! Also not pre-rinsing the dishes helps too. Altogether you can save up to a third of the water.

#12 Give up dry cleaning--I didn't even think about it, but dry cleaning is done with... chemicals! They're weird, cancer causing ones at that, stay away!

Check out the rest of the tips at http://www.thedailygreen.com/environmental-news/latest/green-new-years-r...

Also do you have any tips that aren't listed? What are some outside-of-the-box ways to live a little greener?
